DESCRIPTION:All times are PST (Pacific Standard Time) \nYour instructor will contact you within three days to schedule a time that works for both of you to complete the exam. \n*** YOU MUST HAVE CURRENT ACTIVE CERTIFICATION TO TAKE THE CHALLENGER OPTION *** \n*** YOU MUST REGISTER USING THE SAME EMAIL ADDRESS THAT YOU ARE REGISTERED WITH THE ENA*** \n  \nTNCC 9th Edition – Challenger (Test-out) \n\n\nThis new edition expands the opportunity for application of trauma knowledge and skills by increasing the Trauma Nursing Process teaching activities from six to eight scenarios. Other enhancements include: \n\nReshaped and revised pre-course learning activities to include modules on communication and shock.\nThe addition of “The LGBTQ+ Trauma Patient” chapter.\nInteractive activities are interwoven throughout the classroom time.\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout TNCC\nEvery second counts when stabilizing life-threatening trauma cases. This course\, taught by qualified nurses\, prepares you with the knowledge\, critical thinking skills and training needed to provide high-quality trauma nursing care. After completing this course\, you will be able to properly assess patients and implement evidence-based interventions to improve outcomes for them. \nHere’s a glimpse into what you’ll learn: \n\nThe latest trauma nursing practice recommendations\nSystematic assessment and standardized approach to trauma nursing care\nRapid identification of life-threatening injuries\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCourse Format: \n\nIn order to receive a 4-year certification\, two tests need to be completed successfully:\n\nScheduled one hour testing practice session with an instructor\, which includes one practice scenario using the Trauma Nursing Process (TNP) followed by a “hands-on” virtual test.\nOnline written test. This test is open-book – No more test anxiety!\n\n\nAll portions of this class are virtual/online (via Zoom).\n\n  \nManual: The 9th edition of the TNCC Trauma Nursing Core Course Provider Manual includes evidence-based content developed by trauma emergency experts. This textbook book is MANDATORY for participation in this course. It is available for purchase as a physical book via mail\, or an e-book format. ENA recommends participants have the book 30 days before the class. However\, we understand that sometimes circumstances do not allow for this\, and it will not prevent you from being successful. \nPre-course learning: Includes access to required online modules prior to the course date to let you learn at your own pace\, apply what you learn\, and receive immediate feedback. Modules include a step-by-step breakdown of the Trauma Nursing Process and a comprehensive study guide. \nInstructor-led classroom discussions and skills stations: TNCC is typically delivered over one-and-a-half days. Live\, in-person or virtual classroom learning includes skill stations\, group discussion and other interactive exercises. \nElectronic testing: Electronic open-book testing enables you to test in an environment that makes you most comfortable.
